Ack! I’ve got a high schooler! Although I used to be a high school teacher, I was  STILL a little nervous about homeschooling high school. I think the most terrifying part for me is the process of selecting the right courses and compiling transcripts.

I received this product free of charge for review purposes and was compensated for my time. All opinions expressed in this post are my own and I was not required to post a positive review of the product.

As homeschool parents, we also take on the role of guidance counselor! It is our responsibility to make sure that our kids take all the classes they need to graduate. And, if your child is college bound, the pressure to get coursework and transcripts just right is even greater!

Homeschooling High School {my fears}

Y’all, can I keep it real? I have secretly been flat out scared to homeschool high school! I don’t want to mess it up! I don’t want my kids to not have the coursework that they need! I don’t want them to not get into college because I didn’t have the right classes on their transcripts…and, the list goes on!

But, then I read this:

Homeschool parents need to be aware of ways to power-up the homeschool transcript. Their homeschool high schooler’s courses need to be college-attractive while broadening their life experiences and developing their skills and interests.

One of the best ways to create a powerful homeschool transcript is to avoid generic courses where possible. Instead, have your high schooler take courses that will add *sparkle* or *pop* (as college advisors often call those). ~ from 7SistersHomeschool.com

Homeschooling High School {I can do this!}

Reading about how to make a transcript “sparkle” and “pop” started easing my fears a little bit, but I didn’t start feeling confident about homeschooling high school until I began to really dive into the 7 Sisters Homeschool website. The site features loads of no-busywork, ebook curriculum created by 20+ year veteran homeschool moms, designed to build character and thinking skills.

BUT, there is so, SO much more than just curriculum! The site it chock-full of a wealth of information to help guide you through the high school years! From loads of freebies and how to homeschool high school blog posts to an entire podcast dedicated homeschooling high school! If you’ve got questions, 7 Sisters Homeschool will likely have your answers!
