Teaching the letters U or R? Create this fun umbrella craft with raindrops! Free printable umbrella template included!

We love incorporating creative ideas into our homeschool. When we were learning all about the letter U, the boys got to do this fun little umbrella craft with raindrops that definitely fit the bill! They had a blast adding the raindrops to their umbrella! I enjoyed the project because it was fun for them and easy for me!

Umbrella Raindrop Craft Template

Materials Needed for Umbrella Raindrop Craft:

  • construction paper
  • scissors
  • glue stick
  • school glue
  • printable umbrella template (download link below)

Instructions for the Umbrella Raindrop Craft:

Choose the colors for your umbrella. Cut out the pieces. FYI, I just drew the parts of the umbrella freehand. However, I have created a printable template below for you to download and use!

Once you have assembled the umbrella pieces, use the glue stick to adhere them to the construction paper. Now, the fun begins! Start adding dots of school glue all over the paper.

Next, hang the project up to dry. This will give you the raindrop effect! Below is a photo before the glue dried completely.

And below is a photo of the umbrella craft after the glue dried. Notice all the little “raindrops” falling on the page!

Craft Idea: Sprinkle glitter over the wet glue. This will make your raindrops sparkly! Be sure to check out more of the creative ideas I have to share with you all!
