Do you ever get to the point where enough is enough? Well, for me, it was the summer of 2015. I decided it was time to make a change because I was desperate for a solution! For years I had done all of my homeschool lesson planning on paper.

I tried using numerous different types of planners where I either wrote out all of our assignments or I typed up and printed the assignments. I even created my very own printable homeschool pages.

But, I had the same problem with every single lesson planner I tried…

Whenever assignments were missed, I would spend hours erasing, crossing out, or cutting/pasting to make the needed adjustments and revisions.

Moving around and shifting assignments became a serious chore!

I started dreading Sunday evenings when it was time to make sure that the kids lessons for the week were accurate and up-to-date.

It got to the point where I could only plan a week in advance in order to avoid the inevitable frustration that came whenever I had to make changes. I knew there had to be a better way…and I was determined to find it!

Determined to Find a Solution…

So, I started researching. I began reading reviews from fellow homeschool moms who were using an online planner called Homeschool Planet. I figured an online planner would have way more options than I really needed and that all the options would make planning way too complicated.

But, with the FREE 30-day trial, I decided to at least give it a shot. Boy, am I glad I did!

I fell in love with Homeschool Planet and purchased a one-year subscription! And, I’ve been using it ever since!

When I was offered the opportunity to review the online planner on my blog, it was a no-brainer! (Besides, I was already using and loving it as a paying customer!) Homeschool Planet has revolutionized lesson planning for me and I’m convinced it will do the same for you too!

A Homeschool Planner for the Present & the Future

Curious about my first impression? Well, I can’t lie – I was initially concerned that Homeschool Planet would be way too complicated and have way more options than I needed. And, I was right about it having lots of options.

You can do A LOT with Homeschool Planet…from resource lists to shopping lists…from daily digest emails to text capabilities…from customizable widgets to calendar sharing.

When I first starting using Homeschool Planet, I didn’t really have a need for all of the options. But, as my children got older, I saw first-hand how Homeschool Planet grew with us!

For example, I didn’t really need to print report cards or transcripts in beginning. But, now that we’ve had to submit college applications, the transcript feature is HUGE!

When my kiddos were younger, I loosely tracked their class hours. However, once they hit high school, I will needed to keep more accurate, detailed records of this data. Homeschool Planet did that for me too!

I am 1000% convinced that Homeschool Planet is the last homeschool planner I will ever need, because it serves my organizational and planning needs, both now and in the future!

My Entire Homeschool Year is All Planned Out

While I was right about Homeschool Planet having loads of features, I was totally wrong about it being too complicated! It was still very easy for me to do all of my lesson planning! To get started, I watched a few of the video tutorials.

And, I was able to get our ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR planned out in just a few days! For all my fellow planners out there, can you imagine the exhilaration I felt?

Now that I’ve been using Homeschool Planet for many years, I can now get our entire school planned out in a day!!

Reschedule Assignments With Ease!

I keep discovering really cool things that I can do with the homeschool scheduler. But, the very best part is the rescheduling feature. Y’all, this is EXACTLY what I was looking for! It solved the one problem that I had with every single planner that I previously tried!

Check it out below! If we miss an assignment, I can easily open up the “Rescheduler” and move assignments forward, add assignments or delete assignments… with just the click of a button!

LOVE IT!!!! This feature alone makes Homeschool Planet worth every single penny I paid for it! No more dreaded Sunday evenings spent erasing, crossing out, or cutting/pasting in order to revise our schedule.

Homeschool Organization w/Multiple Device Capabilities

I also love that we can access our assignments in multiple ways! I entered all of our data and assignments using my laptop. During the school day I make changes to our schedule using our classroom desktop. I can even keep up with assignments on my phone when we are on the go!

And, my daughter (who is now a college graduate) had a separate login and was able to access all of her assignments on her tablet.

Printable Assignment Sheets

While my daughter preferred to mark off her daily assignments on her tablet, I preferred for my boys to have printed assignment sheets.

Well, you guessed it…Homeschool Planet made it easy for me to print off assignment sheets for each of my boys. As they progress through their daily assignments, they check off their completed work on their sheet.

As I check their progress throughout the day, I mark the assignments as complete on my phone or on my computer.
