Mouse PaintWe read Mouse Paint by Ellen Stoll Walsh and the kids LOVED it! It went along perfectly with KJ’s lessons on color from My Father’s World Curriculum PLUS it is one of the books in our Itty Bitty Bookworm Curriculum PLUS the big boys were doing letter M. Needless to say, Mouse Paint was a great pick all around! So, for our stART project we painted mice.

The kids each drew three ovals on two pieces of paper. I gave them the primary colors and they painted the three ovals on their first paper. Then, they mixed the primaries to make the secondaries and painted the three ovals on the second paper. Once dry, the kids added features to their mice! Can you tell, that one is a girl with pony tails and a few others have on glasses.

I have seen so many cute activities with this book, my library does not have it so I may have to just by it! I really like this project, our art group is in the middle of a color wheel project and I think I am going to do this with them as a culminating activity. I love how it turned out.

Thank you for linking to stART this week :0)
