Looking for a reading log for your kids to track what they read? Download the FREE printable Reading Record today!
We had designated reading time during our school day. We called it D.E.A.R. time – Drop Everything And Read! During this time, the kids were free to read books of their own choosing or books that they are required to read for school.
I thought it would be cool for them (and me) to look back and see all that they have read throughout the year. So, I whipped up a printable for them! We’ve been used this Reading Record for a few years, but I wanted to share it with you now!

Assembling the Reading Record
Simply print the cover page along with multiples of the log pages. I just staple them all together. Easy peasy!
However, if you want the record to be more long-lasting and durable, you could laminate the cover page, add a piece of cardstock for the back page, and spiral bind it all together.

Check out the spiral binder I use all the time!
NOTE: If you decide to bind your Reading Record, I’ve included pages with extra left margin space for that very purpose! The original version has everything center-aligned. But, both versions are included in the download below!
Using the Reading Record
Each Friday as part of their school assignments, my kids updated their Reading Records. If they started a new book during the week, they record it in their log. If they completed a book during the week, they also record it.

It has been great being able to look back and see all of the books they read throughout the year! Interested in having your kids/students document what they are reading? Download the Reading Record below!

Want to say Thank You?
The best way to say thank you for this freebie is to tell others about it! For example: share a photo online of you (or your kids) using it and provide a link back to my website!
However, please do NOT send the PDF file directly to someone. Send them a link to my blog post where they can download the PDF themselves!
This helps keep my freebies FREE! Thank you!
