Download and print these fun, FREE math art activity pages designed to help identify various shapes from triable & quadrilaterals to nonagons & decagons!
I love math and I love finding ways to make math more exciting, whether it’s through math printables, math-themed games, or living math books! Rather than a basic worksheet where the student simply identifies the various polygons shown on the page, I decided to make it a little more engaging! And, dare I say, FUN!
The Line Drawing Polygon Search activity pages are a great way to help children actively search for and identify various shapes.

Plus, the completed activity becomes a beautiful piece of abstract art! And, the best part, in my opinion, is that each student’s completed “artwork” will be completely different! (Be sure to check out our other art activities!)
With eight different printable pages to choose from, you are bound to find a page that will suit the needs of your learner, regardless of their age!

The basic idea of each page is that the student draws random lines on the page and then colors the various polygons created by the intersecting lines.
Line Drawing Polygon Search Printable Page:
So, the first page included in the download is the most general of all the printable pages. Using a ruler, draw random, overlapping lines in the box.
Each line should begin and end on an edge of the box. Then locate and color each set of polygons a different color. (For example, color all triangles one color. Color all quadrilaterals a different color.)
See a completed sample page below:

Line Drawing Triangle, Quadrilateral, Pentagon & Hexagon Search Printable Pages:
The next four pages focus on specific polygons. So, if you want to focus on triangles, use the triangle polygon page.
Using a ruler, draw random, overlapping lines in the box. Locate and color all of the triangles. There are also pages for quadrilaterals, pentagons, and hexagons.
See a completed sample triangle page below:

Line Drawing Polygon Search Printable Pages w/tables:
The last three printable pages available to download all have tables for the student to complete. Using a ruler, draw random, overlapping lines in the box.
Choose a different color for each of the polygons listed and complete the table at the bottom of the page. Search and color the polygons according to the table created.
See a completed sample of the page that focuses on just triangles and quadrilaterals below:

Lastly, below is a completed sample of the page that includes 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10-sided polygons. Also included (but now shown is a page that includes just 3, 4, 5, and 6-sided polygons.)
