Singing. My oldest son regularly walks around the house gracing us with his voice. At this very moment, I hear him belting out “Believe” by Josh Groban (from the Polar Express). If only it were a more pleasant sound!

Yes, as his mother, I love that he’s confident enough to not be overly concerned with what his siblings think about his voice. However, I often hear him mention his desire to really learn how to sing.

I have always encouraged my kids to be well-rounded. In addition to sports, they all play multiple instruments. My eldest son has taken years of piano, drum, and now, violin lessons.

However, with his busy football schedule, I knew adding another instrument, his voice, would not work with his already hectic weekly routine.

But then I discovered The Vocal Gym For Homeschool by Throga.

It’s safe to say my son got his voice from me. I’ve often remarked, “If I could sing, I wouldn’t even speak – I’d walk around singing everything.” Boy, was I excited to hear Richard Fink IV, the founder of The Vocal Gym acknowledge this:

“If you can speak, you can sing!”

If there is hope for me, I know The Vocal Gym For Homeschool can help my son! Check out the video below!

The 7 Dimensions of Singing

The Vocal Gym for Homeschool is a fully-automated, self-paced, online singing course for homeschoolers that provides a personalized learning experience based on each student’s individual vocal profile.

The first assignment is a vocal assessment. My son answered some questions to help determine his vocal profile based on the 7 Dimensions of Singing:

  1. Flexibility
  2. Breathing
  3. Intonation
  4. Tone
  5. Range
  6. Articulation
  7. Strength

His results are below:

I was very impressed with the accuracy of his results. He will be the first to tell you that he needs help with his vocal range and I can attest to his dramatic vocal articulation!

All of the information gathered during the assessment provides a starting point for bringing out the best in my son’s voice as he progresses through the course.

Online Singing Course for Homeschoolers

The Vocal Gym for Homeschool provides 115,000+ vocal exercise combinations, 365-day access for diagnosing and measuring progress, and 150+ hours of lessons, exercises, and activities.

As a parent, I can monitor my son’s progress, practice time, and work through the Parent Portal. Plus, there is the Homeschool Toolbox that guides parents through course assignments and provides access to quiz keys and more!

And, since the course is completely online, my son can practice and progress when it fits into his already busy schedule! Late at night just before bed. In the car driving the football practice.

Although my son does have prior knowledge of music theory and can read music, neither are requirements for the course! The Vocal Gym for Homeschool is for singers of all skill levels – from beginner to advanced!

Singers vs. Athletes

One of my favorite parts about The Vocal Gym is the coorelation to athletics. We are a family of athletes. The Vocal Gym encourages students to train their voice just as athletes train and target their muscle groups, gain strength, agility, and coordination.

This totally resonated with my football player! And, as an athlete, you usually have a coach. Well, guess what – students in The Vocal Gym have a coach as well!

Meet the Vocal Coach

Meet Richard Fink IV, the founder of Throga. He is a renowned vocal coach, bringing his expertise and experience to The Vocal Gym providing students with top-notch instruction and guidance.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Coach Fink is the “world’s leading online vocal coach” and holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s longest held note!

And, his course, The Vocal Gym, the only vocal technique to receive a U.S Patent.

And, if that weren’t enough, Coach Fink even co-wrote songs with Michael Jackson and, yes, Josh Groban! My son will love knowing that fun fact!

Needless to say, my son’s got a rockstar vocal coach!

Earn High School Credit for Vocal Training

The Vocal Gym for Homeschool is a Carnegie credit-qualifying interactive online course for homeschooled high school students. Students can log 150+ hours of learning and vocal training per year through the self-paced program.

Essentially, the Vocal Gym For Homeschool course allows students to earn a fine arts credit, recognized across all 50 U.S. States.

Learn to Sing at Home

In spite of his busy schedule, my son can really learn how to sing – all thanks to The Vocal Gym by Throga! And earn a fine arts credit at the same time! And, maybe, just maybe – by Christmas he’ll be ready for a duet with Josh Groban!

Do you have a homeschooler who wants to learn how to sing or improve their singing voice? Or perhaps your homeschool co-op would like to offer a vocal course.

Either way, The Vocal Gym for Homeschool is the very best online singing course for homeschoolers!
