This school year I have been more focused on exposing my children to their African American heritage. We have been learning about various African Americans who have been pivotal in history. I even had grand plans of pulling together a unit study about Africa! So, you can imagine how thrilled I was when I found out about the Discover Africa! Notebooking Packet! All of the work has been done for me!
Discover Africa! is great for those who, like me, want to learn more about their heritage and the land of their ancestors. My Thoughts:
I must admit, when I first downloaded Discover Africa! I was in awe at what a thorough job Jessica had done! This truly is a complete and comprehensive study of the African continent! I am so excited to begin studying Africa with my kids!
Beautiful photos: I especially love the bright colorful photos of the African people representing each of the 54 countries! Before I was able to start printing them out, one of my sons saw the photos on my computer and wanted to scroll through every single picture!
Everyone’s Involved: My 5 year olds often want to join in on what their older siblings are doing. I love that Jessica kept this in mind by creating partially filled in notebooking pages. This will allow my younger children to participate and create their own Africa notebook without the labor of filling in all the information! Take a peek at what the blank versus partially filled in pages look like:
Flexibility: Jessica really seems to have thought of it all! Not only does she include individual files for each of the countries, but she also includes a merged file containing all 54 countries in one PDF. This makes it easy for those who want to print everything all at once, but it also makes it easy for those who want to pick and choose countries to print!
I am so thrilled about Discover Africa! Jessica has truly saved me a ton of time and effort and I can’t wait to get started learning about Africa!
