Atomidoodle Educational Chemistry App

I can vividly remember my chemistry teacher. He was an interesting man. His wild, wiry hair reminded me of Albert Einstein. It wasn’t his uncanny resemblance to the great scientist that intimidated me.  It was the large periodic table on the wall behind him! Oh how I loathed looking at all those elements, symbols, atomic numbers…

Avoid Chemistry Anxiety

As a mom, I don’t want my kids to be intimidated or scared about learning! I definitely don’t want the mere thought of the periodic table to cause the same sense of anxiety that I experienced! That is why I absolutely LOVE Hero Factory Games new Atomidoodle app! With this app, your chemistry notebook comes to life with speedy atoms, challenging mazes, colorful doodles, and catchy music!

Although my daughter is not taking chemistry yet, I am thrilled to be able to expose her to the periodic table in a fun and VERY nonthreatening way! And the best part, she is actually enjoying learning about the elements!

I have even caught my boys trying to join in on the action!

How to Play the Atomidoodle Game:

The object of Atomidoodle is to draw paths through the increasingly tricky mazes to get the correct atoms safely to the goal by using fission (dividing atoms) and fusion (combining atoms) to create new atoms.

Think quick in order to avoid combining the atoms incorrectly, thus causing them to explode. As you “discover” and learn the elements, they are added to the periodic table.

Advancing through the levels unlocks hundreds of fun facts about the elements.

Lovin’ Learning the Periodic Table

I love the Atomidoodle app and I really wish that I had such a wonderful tool when I was young! I definitely would NOT have been so intimidated by the periodic table! I love the hand drawn art. I love that the game resembles an actual chemistry notebook. I love having all of the fun facts about the elements. I love how math is woven into the game.

But, what do I love the most? I love that it is FUN! My kids enjoy it and so do I! They don’t know it yet, but I have secretly been using the app myself and have learned SO much more about the elements than I remember learning as a child!

I am so thankful that my daughter is already being exposed to the elements! For the record, thanks to Hero Factory Games, I have absolutely no worries about her being intimidated by the periodic table when she takes chemistry!

We are studying chemistry this year, and my son love iPad apps for practice. This looks like a lot of fun!
