My kids LOVE hands-on, creative activities…which probably explains why they especially love when I include art lessons in our homeschool! Their faces seem to light up as soon as they see me pull out our arts and craft supplies. However, with the end of the school year drawing near, I realized that I hadn’t incorporated as much art as I had originally planned. So, I decided to make more time for art…and I’m so glad I did!

I received this product free of charge for review/giveaway purposes and was financially compensated for my time. All opinions expressed in this post are my own and I was not required to post a positive review of the product.

Bringing More FUN to Our Homeschool

Sometimes I find myself guilty of not including enough “fun stuff” in our homeschool day…and my kids are quick to remind me! Since art seemed to have been MIA (missing in action) for quite awhile, I was thrilled to try out the Atelier Homeschool Art Curriculum. Needless to say, my kids were beyond thrilled! Apparently, Art = Fun School!

Our most favorite art lesson thus far has been the Earth Weaving lesson! We went outside to collect our art supplies and made weaving projects from items we found in nature! This art project definitely boasted my ranking on the “fun school” meter!Atelier Homeschool Art Earth Weaving Lesson

Easy to Use Video-based Art Lessons

While the kids love the added fun of having art lessons, I love that Atelier Homeschool Art is super easy for me! Did you notice my laptop in the background of the pictures? Yes, the lessons are video-based. So, I don’t have to do the teaching!

Truthfully, the reason art often got pushed aside throughout our school year was because it was just too much for me to get together!  But, with Atelier, it’s so simple! I just make sure we have all the required supplies and I press play, supervise, and “oooh-and-aaahh” over their masterpieces at the end!

Totally, what this homeschool mama needed!

Need more than just the video lessons? Not to worry, all the lessons are reinforced by lessons plans. View the pdf files or print the lesson plans to use!

To make things even easier, you can get the Atelier Art Supply Kit, which includes approximately 80% of the supplies need for one complete curriculum level!

Art Lessons with No Guessing Required

I don’t know about you, but one of my pet-peeves is when I am following a recipe and there is not a single picture included. I’m left guessing if I’m doing things the right way. I’m left guessing what the finished dish should look like.

I’m the same way with art. I want to see the process. I want to see what the finished project should look like! Now, that’s not to say that our art projects will or should look exactly the same, but I like to have a general idea…and the video lessons make sure that I, nor my kids have to play the guessing game.

I LOVE that the video lessons actually show children doing the very same lessons! Not only do we get to see the art lesson in progress, but we also get to see some of the children’s completed projects on the video! Very cool!
