Provide a self-paced, gamified calculus education for your homeschool teen that does NOT require you to teach lessons or grade assignments!

Derivatives, integrals, limits, oh my! Calculus – I’m convinced you either love it or you hate it. Would you believe I know of someone who enjoys calculus so much he wants the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus engraved on his tombstone? Me, on the other hand – not a chance.

As much as I love math, I am NOT a fan of calculus. But, as a math major, I took a lot of it. AP Calculus in high school. Laboratory Calculus I and II, Intermediate Calculus, and Advanced Calculus in college.

Yet, I have absolutely no desire to teach calculus to my kids – I would lose my sanity!

Mr. D Math Calculus

I received this product free of charge for review purposes and was compensated for my time. All opinions expressed in this post are my own and I was not required to post a positive review of the product.

What about you? Are you looking for a way to teach calculus that doesn’t involve you dusting off your old calculus cheat sheet? Or perhaps, you’re a homeschool mama with a teen who’s surpassed your mathematical skill level?

Either way, if you’re looking for someone else to take over your teen’s calculus education, Mr. D Math is the answer!

Mr. D Math Calculus Class

Who is Mr. D?

In case you’re not familiar, let me introduce you to Dennis DiNoia, fondly known as Mr. D. As a Florida State Certified Secondary Mathematics Teacher since 1988, he’s been teaching math for a long time!

As a math tutor, he utilized his strategies, providing extra help so that math could finally click for students. He eventually decided to bring his teaching methodology to the masses and the online Mr. D Math platform was born!

**2025 UPDATE – NEW Gamification Features**

I’m excited to share that Mr. D has taken his already great Calculus course and made it even more appealing to students. What kid doesn’t enjoy earning awards, badges, points, and certificates as they power through a challenging game? For me personally, I know my boys thrive in environments where they receive these types of rewards!

Well, that’s exactly what Mr. D has done with his new gamified Calculus course!

With additional incentive and motivation, students are naturally more inclined to work towards completion and success, thereby improving student outcomes! With the integration of these appealing game-like features, students can tackle Calculus with increased motivation and confidence.

It not only keeps the student engaged, but can also reduce stress by creating a more enjoyable learning experience! We all know the right motivation and incentives can work wonders!

Check out what Mr. D has to say about his new gamified math courses:

Want to see what some of the rewards look like? Check out some of the badges and awards my youngest son has already earned:

And, I absolutely L.O.V.E the inspirational quotes incorporated with the awards! Here are just a few:

“You’re more powerful than you think. Every effort, every moment, is a piece of your victory.”

– Mr. D Math Fraction Fighter

“The truth is in the data – never underestimate the power of knowledge. You have all the answers within reach!”

– Mr. D Math Data Diva

I believe that Mr. D is changing the game of math, especially for upper-level math courses, by adding these gamification features! While the subject matter may be challenging, the game-based learning approach makes it much more exciting!

If you’re looking for a math course for your child, I urge you to check out the new Mr. D Math Gamified Courses! Don’t be surprised if your student begins to ask to do their gamified math lessons each day!

Mr. D Math Self-Paced Calculus Course

Mr. D Math Calculus covers all the vital content needed for a successful high-level math education! The curriculum includes 200+ sections, 15 lessons, and 8 chapters:

  1. Review of the Tools Needed for Calculus
  2. Limits
  3. Derivatives
  4. Applications of Derivatives
  5. Integration
  6. Integral Applications
  7. Introduction to Differential Equations
  8. Vectors

The Benefits of Self-Paced Mr. D Math Calculus

For a one-time cost of $247, you can start your calculus course any time of the year and learn at your own pace with pre-recorded lessons by Mr. Seth Hogan (aka Mr. S).

And, this one-time cost not only includes the instruction, but it also includes all the assignments, quizzes, tests, and exams! No need to purchase a separate textbook or workbook! Talk about cost-effectiveness!

And, it’s easy for parents! In addition to providing all the instruction and extra help sessions, there’s no need to worry about grading your teen’s work! Answer keys are provided for the student and all quizzes, tests, and semester exams are computer-graded.

If you’re worried about staying on track with a self-paced course, don’t stress! A pace chart is available to help your teen complete the course in just 34 weeks. But, we all know life happens, which makes this self-paced course more conducive for those situations and you need to move at a modified pace.

But what sets Mr. D Math apart is the access to a live teacher three times a week via scheduled extra help sessions. This means your teen can ask questions and get personalized help from a real teacher, not just a computer program. And if you need daily support, help is just an email away!

Looking for a Live Online Calculus Class Instead?

If self-paced calculus is still intimidating, despite the extensive access to the extra help sessions and the computer grading, live classes are available too!

Classes with either Mr. Dominic or Mr. S meet virtually once a week from August through May. Live classes require an additional $290 per course (in addition to the base price of the calculus curriculum $247). And, yes, the additional cost can be split into monthly payments spread out over 10 months.

Mr. D Math Instructors

I think Mr. D is awesome! However, you may have noticed that he does not teach the calculus classes. But, not to worry! ALL of the Mr. D Math instructors are experienced and highly trained!

In fact, they each undergo two years of training to become certified in Mr. D’s unique teaching methodology.

So, whether it’s Mr. Seth, Mr. Dominic, or any of the other Mr. D Math instructors, they’ve all learned from the master! So, you’re in excellent hands!
