I am determined to become better at accomplishing my yearly goals! In my quest, I have discovered three important things about goal setting! And, I’ve created a printable to help me utilize what I’ve learned!
3 Important Tips to Setting & Accomplishing Goals
-
Your goals should be broken down into smaller, bite-size tasks.
-
There is something special about actually writing out your goals with pen and paper.
-
Your goals must be displayed somewhere that you see them regularly!
While these ideas pertain to setting yearly goals, I decided that the same techniques should apply to the monthly goals that I post here as part of Mama’s Mission of the Month. So, since I’m a sucker for a printable, I made the Mama’s Mission of the Month Checklist.
I started using the printable this month and I am amazed at how much more I have accomplished from my list, simply by categorizing and breaking down the tasks, writing them out on paper {with my favorite erasable pens} and posting them in a highly visible place!
The month isn’t even half way over and I’ve already completed over half of my missions for this month! This is vast improvement considering that I used to get most of my missions accomplished within a week before I need to post about them here on the blog! {grins…yeah, my secret is out!}
So, of course, my hope is that the Mama’s Mission of the Month Checklist will be as beneficial to you as it has been to me!
Download Mama’s Mission of the Month Checklist here!
{P.S. In the download, I have included a blank checklist so that you can add in your own categories! Or, you can download the printable with the exact same categories that I use every month.}
Vanessa, you are very welcome!!!
Thank you!!! This is exactly what I was looking for:)
You are very welcome!
Sounds like a great plan! That is what I have been doing, but the time to actually sell is drawing near! Ack!!!
On the topic of garage sales. I’m working on simplifying this month and should have a lot of “stuff” to get rid of. I don’t like doing garage sales and all the prep work, but hubby believes it’s a wise ROI. What I’m going to do this time is spend the weekdays accumulating the items, and the spend the weekends organizing & pricing. I’m blessed with enough space to store the items until the sale. Then when I’m ready to have the sale, all I need to do is lay the items out.
Kim, I TOTALLY know what you mean!!!
I think I need one that just says, “simplify” – “simplify” – “simplify” — etc. etc. etc…
You are most welcome! Hopefully it will be helpful for you!
Thank you for this… With so many things going on as a Mom this will really be useful to have it all written… I shared this in my FB. Thanks again. You are a blessing.
I would love a customized list! I appreciate the offer a lot. If you can manage, I’d like the following 8 categories:
1. My Priorities
2. My Goals
3. My Heart
4. My Home
5. My Health
6. My Work
7. My Blog
8. My Schedule
That would be awesome! I’ve really enjoyed your blog and printables. Thanks for sharing!!!
I LOVE IT!
THANK YOU
Thanks for creating this printable. I know it will help me so much.
Haha! Too funny! I’m definitely liking this much better than my little whiteboard on the side of the fridge!
Wow, this is perfect! I agree that the visual reminder makes all the difference, and your printable is much more “visually appealing” than my smudged kitchen whiteboard. hehe
