Finally, teaching science to K-2nd grade is EASY with this elementary homeschool science curriculum from Master Books!
Sometimes you just need an easy button! Am I right? Especially as a busy homeschool mom! Trust me, I know! That’s why I’m always excited to share products that are made for moms like us!

I received this product free of charge for review purposes and was compensated for my time. All opinions expressed in this post are my own and I was not required to post a positive review of the product.
When it comes to curriculum, I’ve discovered that having an all-encompassing curriculum for the younger kiddos can be a game-changer! Having everything all in one place can be a lifesaver, especially if you’re homeschooling multiple kiddos!
That’s why I’m loving the God’s Design Science K-2 science curricula from Master Books!
Bible-based Elementary Homeschool Science
God’s Design for Life for Beginners AND God’s Design for Heaven and Earth for Beginners are both Bible-based and Creator-centered science curricula designed to help spark a love for science and show evidence supporting the Genesis account of creation!
I had the opportunity to check out God’s Design for Heaven and Earth for Beginners and I’m impressed! Very impressed!
No Big Bang Theory! Just Bible through and through!

“Fun and easy-to-use, the God’s Design Series – for Beginners curriculum is ideal for anyone who wants their children to understand creation from a solidly biblical basis.” –Master Books website
About the Heaven and Earth for Beginners curriculum:
The curriculum consists of just one single book and the optional supply kit.
A note on the optional supply kit: I took a peek and if you’re anything like me, you’ve already got almost all the supplies you need stored around the house from years of homeschooling. But if not, grab the supply kit to make things even easier!
As a homeschool mom of many kiddos, I’m very aware of how loose pieces of paper, worksheets, etc somehow seem to end up all over the house. Or, the kiddo has the workbook but can’t find the textbook.
With God’s Design for Heaven and Earth for Beginners, it’s all in one book!
The teacher guide. Supply list. Daily / weekly schedule. The lessons. The questions. Hands-on activities. Craft templates. Copywork. Tracing. Bible lessons. Vocabulary. Worksheets. Coloring pages. Puzzles. Scriptures. Science experiments. Review sheets. Games. Scavenger hunts. Edible science. Projects. Music. Answer Keys. And more!!
Y’all – it’s all in here! I really am quite shocked by how much is included in this book!
It’s no doubt a complete and thorough elementary earth science curriculum!
What topics are covered in the Heaven and Earth for Beginners book?
While the book clearly incorporates loads of learning modalities, here is some of the actual science covered in the curriculum.
Weather and Water for Beginners:
- Atmosphere and Meteorology
- Ancient Weather and Climate (before & after the Great Flood)
- Clouds (water cycle, cloud types, precipitation)
- Storms (air mass, weather fronts, wind, tornadoes, hurricanes)
- Weather Information (measuring temperature, air pressure & windspeed)
- Ocean Movements (currents, waves, tides, wave erosion)
- Seafloor (ocean zones, coral reefs)
Universe for Beginners:
- Space Models and Tools (astronomy, seasons, telescopes)
- Outer Space (stars, our galaxy, asteroids, comets, meteors)
- Sun and Moon (our solar system, solar eclipse & energy, moon phases)
- Planets
- Space Program (NASA, space exploration & stations, space shuttles, astronauts)
Planet Earth for Beginners:
- Origins and Glaciers (earth, Genesis Flood, Great Ice Age, glaciers)
- Rocks and Minerals (fossils, types of rocks, identifying rocks, rock cycle, gems)
- Mountains and Movement (plates, earthquakes, volcanoes)
- Water and Erosion (geysers, landslides, caves)
Didn’t I tell you, it’s thorough! But the best part is that not only will kiddos learn a lot, but they’ll have fun doing it!
And, in my opinion, that’s the best way for kids to retain what they learn – they have so much fun that they don’t even realize they’re learning!
Easy-to-Implement Elementary Homeschool Science
Back to the easy button! Not only is the entire curriculum contained in one single book. But the supply lists make it super easy to implement every single activity.
I recommend gathering all the needed supplies at one time and storing them in a box so you can quickly grab what you need from week to week.
Easy! Just grab the book and the supplies from your box. You and your kiddo will be having fun learning in no time at all!
And, if you’ve got multiple kiddos, check out what else Master Books has for you!
Teach Science to Multiple Children with Ease
I totally appreciate that Master Books has made it easier to teach science to multiple grade levels! If you’ve got older kiddos, you can easily chop down your teaching time by pairing the Beginner Heaven and Earth book with the God’s Design for Heaven and Earth course for older students (grades 3-8).
I always loved when we were able to learn together as a family! In my opinion, that’s one of the sweetest aspects of homeschooling.
Take a peek at how this mom uses the Heaven and Earth curriculum with younger and older kids. Plus, the video includes a flip-through of both textbooks:
I have fond memories of Bible time and science projects at the kitchen table with all my kids involved, having fun learning as a family!
The folks at Master Books make this easy to do by providing a schedule to help you teach this course at the same time as the Heaven and Earth course designed for older students!
So, if you’ve got older kiddos, why not let the whole family have fun learning earth science together!
