Dr. Benjamin Carson was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 18, 1951. Once a poor student, Carson overcame the odds and graduated with honors and went on to attend medical school! At the age of 33, he became the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Carson is credited as the first surgeon to successfully separate twins conjoined at the head!

Dr. Ben Carson is a great American who exemplifies the American traditions of hard work and independence. We all are capable of doing, becoming, and serving. Letting someone else make you a victim, telling you, “You are not capable” destroys the soul. I love looking at your creative ideas and I’ll visit some of your sponsors as well. I’ve been a teacher for 28 years and presently the Reading Coach/Literacy Interventionist for a school district in NM. I’m looking at starting a preschool as well as small group tutoring in reading as I move beyond a verbal/financially abusive 2nd marriage and move back home to Utah where my family and grandbabies are. Thanks for sharing.
