Kool Aid Play Dough Recipe

Ever tried making your own play dough? Save yourself a little bit of money and give this recipe a try! This was our first time making play dough with Kool Aid and let me tell you the smell is SOOO yummy and, much to my surprise, it lasted for a really long time!!!! We first made this when we were learning about the primary and secondary colors, hence our color selections!  🙂

Kool Aid Playdough Recipe 

Ingredients: 
1 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
2 Tbsp cream of tartar 
1 package unsweetened Kool Aid mix
1 cup water 
1Tbsp vegetable oil

Directions:
Mix the flour, salt, cream of tartar and Kool Aid in a medium pan. Add the water and oil. Stir over medium heat for about 3-5 minutes. Remove the mixture when it forms a ball. Knead it until it’s smooth. Let cool and store in an airtight container OR have fun playing!!! Repeat for each color of play dough you want to make.

    i agree with the other girl, this is WAY too salty. I would rather eat regular play dough!!!!!! EWW!!! Was this even meant to be eaten?!

    Found your blog while searching online for this recipe as lost my printed copy. This is the best Play Dough ever, it lasts for so long. Need to make some up for this weekend when husband and I head out on date night so the sitter has something to keep kids busy with! Put it on my Pinterest boards so i don’t lose it.     I love this! I’ve made it several times. One request: could you list the ingredients in the order they’re used? I’m a bit dyslexic and it’s hell going back and forth between the list and the instructions. 😉

    I just finish making playdough with your recipe, and so far is the best playdoug ever…Thank you for this Idea. We needed to make 10 colors of playdough, we add brown, black and gray using food ingridients like vanilla,black jelly icing, coco powder…This is great….really great

    yes we have made the playdough. I really like the green! We have always made purple I don’t know why?

    I haven’t tried kool aid yet, we always used food coloring and that can stain your hands (and the table!) if it isn’t mixed right. I’ll have to give this one a shot, looks good!
