Easy Lunchboxes

So, you may be wondering why a homeschool mom is talking about a lunch box, right?!?! Well, let me reassure you, we are still homeschooling and yes, we use and absolutely LOVE our Easy LunchBoxes.

Here is the scoop. I have been having three main issues with lunch at our house.

1) As a homeschooling mom, I often find it quite inconvenient to stop in the middle of our day to prepare lunch. To be blunt, I kind of dread it.

2) There is also the added hassle of having to clean up the mess made preparing lunch in order to be able to use the kitchen counter and table for our afternoon science experiments and crafts.

3) I unfortunately do not eat lunch very often. Once I have prepared the kid’s food, I usually try to get things ready for our afternoon activities and before I know it, it is dinner time and I haven’t eaten since breakfast! {My husband does not like this at all!}

DSC03395

Well, the Easy LunchBoxes COMPLETELY solve all three issues! Here is how it works for us. I prepare the kid’s (and my lunch) the night before. I store the lunch boxes in the refrigerator. When it is time for lunch the next day, all I have to do is pull them out! That means no more middle of the day interruptions to make lunch…no messy counters to clean up after lunch…and I actually eat!!! Needless to say, the Easy LunchBoxes have become and will continue to be a true asset to our day. {And they make my husband really happy too!}

DSC03396

An additional bonus is that already having the lunches prepared and packed makes it super easy for us to take impromptu picnics. My kids always ask to go on picnics and so often I tell them “no.” Now, when they ask, we simply grab our lunch boxes, tuck them in the coolers and and head out.

On days where we have errands to run, the lunch boxes are great because I do not have to worry about getting home in time to eat or having to make an unnecessary (and often unhealthy) stop at a fast food restaurant.

I haven’t even mentioned how “good” I feel using them because of how environmentally friendly they are! Not only do they allow you to have a waste-free lunch (eliminating the need for all those plastic baggies that ultimately end up in the trash), but they are FDA approved, BPA, PVC, and phthalate free. Safe for refrigerator, freezer, microwave, & dishwasher.

My only initial concern about the Easy Lunchboxes was the size. I feared that the container would not hold enough food for my kids. However, the 9.38″ x 6.1″ x 2″ lunch boxes have more than ample space. In fact, the very first day we used them, the kids did not even finish all their food. I was able to put the lunch boxes back in the refrigerator and the kids finished their lunch at snack time! So, no more wasted food and it insures that the kids eat all their healthy food before getting to eat their often more appealing snacks!  🙂

So, not only have the Easy Lunchboxes saved me time and energy, but they are already saving me money and they help insure that my kiddos and I are eating healthier and being more environmental conscious!

Now, you may be thinking (as I was) that you could just use another brand of containers sold in stores. Well, let me save you some time and money. Go with the Easy Lunchboxes! They are very sturdy and durable. What I love is that the lids close securely, but are easy enough for my kids to take off without my help! Other containers that I have tried are either too flimsy or the lids are way to tight. (My kids have actually torn lids trying to get them off.) Plus, the Easy Lunchboxes are dishwasher safe and the lids do not warp!

So, do you want the perfect lunch box for homeschoolers or are you looking for the perfect back to school lunch box? No need to look any further!!!

    My lunch idea:
    Make a sandwich–peanut butter and jelly is best. Use the “uncrustable makes” (don’t remember the real name of the gadget) and you have a fantastic sandwich my daughter will love and you don’t have to go out buy uncrustables!

    Important fact:
    Although our Easylunchbox containers hold food securely, they are not designed to be leakproof, and we don’t recommend putting really wet food or liquid into any of the compartments.

    Our standard easy lunch: peanut butter and honey sandwich; baby carrots; and an oreo cookie.

    Not super nutritious, but it’s yummy and fast.

    Would LOVE to try these out. This is our first year homeschooling and I think they would be a huge help in lunch planning! I checked out the site and what is the best feature of all, is that they are dishwasher safe. What mom wouldn’t love that??!

    A yummy lunch idea- ham and cheese roll-ups! My niece hated bread so when I babysat her, I made her these for lunch and she loved them. I just took a slice of ham and a slice of provolone (or whatever) and rolled them into a roll. Sometimes I served them just like that and she liked to dip the whole roll in mustard or I could slice them so they looked like spirals but they don’t stay together very well.

    But I just wanted to say, another great benefit of this method is that the kids know what to expect for lunch so that eliminates any squabbles that may arise from picky eaters!

    I am SO EXCITED about this idea! I, too, have the same issues with lunchtime as a homeschooling Mom…when I visited their site, my mind began swirling with all the different ways to use the boxes, and how much easy they will make life for me!

    Also, I really like the lunch ideas they share- it will keep us from getting in a rut!

    OK, I have now “officially entered once, but here is a reference for my other entries:

    1. I follow you
    2. I “liked” lunchboxes on Facebook
    3. I will be giving you a shout out on my blog (which I will link up later)

    Oh, and I would pick the RED cooler, of course!

    Thanks for hosting this wonderful give away!
