Maintain math retention over the summer and avoid the infamous “Summer Slide” with CTCMath homeschool curriculum!

Summer! Ah, SUMMER!! My kids enjoy this time of the year because they get to unwind from the previous school year. We hang out by the pool and stay up late watching movies. This summer has been no different.

I try to make our summer break fun and relaxing, because once school time rolls around, we work hard! However, in the midst of all the fun, we make time to avoid the infamous summer slide!

CTCMath Avoiding the Summer Slide

I received this product free of charge for review purposes and was compensated for my time. All opinions expressed in this post are my own and I was not required to post a positive review of the product.

What exactly is the summer slide?

The summer slide is a term used when your kid seems to have forgotten most of what they learned the previous year! It’s like summer vacation destroys some of the their brain cells and their recollection and recall is severely lacking!

Sound familiar? As a homeschool parent this can be especially frustrating! No educator wants to feel like their instruction has been in vain!

Well, I’ve found a solution to help avoid the summer slide and hold on to more of those brain cells!

Our Summer Slide Solution:

During the summer, I do two things to help avoid the summer slide. My kids read books and they do math – but, not just any math!

My boys use CTCMath! In fact, I include it as a daily activity on their summer chore charts. Before they get to head to the pool or play video games, they use CTCMath!

It has been a relief for me knowing that I won’t have to spend the first few weeks of school reviewing everything they forgot over the summer, because they didn’t forget – they’ve been doing math all summer long!

But, CTCMath is not JUST for the summer!

CTCMath isn’t just a summertime solution for the summer slide! It’s so much more! CTCMath is a complete online math curriculum for grades K-12 that specializes in providing online video tutorials that utilize a multi-sensory approach to learning that helps improve retention!

With short, concise lessons, students are able to break down the concepts more easily and understand math more readily than ever!

Kids are able to learn at their own pace, which can be great for those that need to catch up, keep up, and move ahead in their math education!

Plus, with the video tutorials, students can stop, pause, and replay the material as many times as they need in order to grasp the concepts!

And, parents automatically receive detailed progress reports so that you can keep up with how your child is doing! Earning certificates as they progress through the lessons is sure to add a dramatic lift in your child’s confidence and attitude towards mathematics!
