Download 60+ FREE Geography from A to Z notebooking / copywork printables to create your own illustrated geography dictionary!

We have used the My Father’s World homeschool curriculum for quite a long time! When I find something that works, I stick with it! My Father’s World has been a wonderful resource for our homeschool family. As with all of our MFW curriculum, I have created printables and copywork pages to supplement this already amazing homeschool program.

Geography From A to Z is one of the books included in the MFW Exploring Countries & Cultures curriculum package. It is an excellent geography resource for young children!

It’s essentially a picture glossary of geographical terms from A (as in archipelago) to Z (as in zone), featuring over sixty clear and concise geography definitions with color illustrations and maps!

The MFW ECC curriculum suggests using index cards to help learn the terms. However, I decided to create notebooking / copywork / illustration pages based on the definitions found in the book.

I thought it would be fun for my kids to create a beautiful keepsake geography dictionary…and now your kids can too!

Illustrated Geography Dictionary Instructions:

Simply print the pages. As each word is presented in the curriculum, the student copies the definition and draws an illustration of the word. My daughter drew her own version of the image featured in the Geography from A to Z book.

Once each page was complete, she placed them alphabetically in her geography notebook (a 3-ring binder). It is a fun little way to “secretly” add in some practice alphabetizing!

However, when we went through the MFW ECC curriculum with my older set of twin boys, we changed things up a bit. We still used the same printable pages, but instead of a 3-ring notebook, we made a special cover and used our binding machine (love this thing!!) to spiral bind all the pages together to create a stand-alone geography dictionary.

PLEASE NOTE: These printables were designed for use by 2nd and 3rd graders using the My Father’s World Exploring Countries & Cultures curriculum.

Lastly, I created these printables to coordinate with the original version of the MFW ECC curriculum. I am not certain if they coordinate with the current version available. Download instructions are further below!

Hi Molly! I assume you are talking about the dotted mid-line on the copywork pages. Not sure why they are not printing out…I didn’t use any special paper. Perhaps try printing in b/w. If that doesn’t work, check to see if you have the most recent version of Adobe Reader. Usually that does the trick!

Hi! We are using ECC this year and I am so excited to have found your geography printables. I can’t seem to get the dotted lines to print, however. Did you print them out on special paper? Thanks!
