We made this little Noah’s Ark craft when we were learning about Noah. One of the books that we read along with our actual Bible stories was The Boat of Many Rooms: The Story of Noah in Verse
.
The craft was lots of fun and fairly easy to make, except for me having to cut out all the animals! 🙂
Here is what we used to make each ark:
2 paper plates
paint & paintbrushes
Rainbow shaped animals and Noah (printed from Making Learning Fun)
First, cut one of the paper plates and let your little one paint both pieces brown. (NOTE: You don’t want both sides to be the exact same size…so don’t cut in half…this is so that you can have two levels on your ark! If you only want one level, you could just use one half plate. My kids wanted to include so many animals that we had to make two levels.)
Next, have you little one paint a rainbow on the top 3/4 of the other plate. Meanwhile, print the animals and Noah from the link above and commence to cutting them out. There are lots of animals to choose from. I let me kiddos decide which animals they wanted on their ark. (NOTE: I did scale these down when I printed them so that they would fit onto the ark!) Once you have finished cutting, let your little one color their animals.
The pic above gives you an idea of what your pieces might look like. Sorry, Noah is not pictured here. 🙂 I didn’t think the Noah looked like Noah…as if I really know how he looked. But the kids insisted that you can’t have Noah’s Ark…without Noah. So, you can see in the pic below that Noah is now included! 🙂
Once everything is dry, staple the brown plates to the rainbow plate so that the rainbow is showing and your ark has two levels. Next, let you little one glue down all the pieces. This is what my kiddos arks look like.
