I have raved over all of our See The Light DVDs and Shipwrecked is no different! I love that these art DVDs are not solely about teaching art to your children. They dive into much greater issues of the heart and intertwine Bible stories and Biblical truths throughout the art lessons!

SEE THE LIGHT: Shipwrecked Art DVD Lesson about the Apostle Paul

Shipwrecked is based on the story of the Apostle Paul and contains 260 minutes of content, including:

  • Shipwrecked: The story of the Apostle Paul is artfully brought to life through the captivating artwork of chalk artist Gloria Kohlmann.
  • COURAGE! Art Lesson: Artist Heidi Shorts shows how to use creative lettering with the word, COURAGE, by drawing wood planks.
  • Who Will Save Us! Art Lesson: Master Artist Pat Knepley teaches a step-by step drawing lesson using chalk pastels to create your own black light reveal that shows that the cross of Jesus truly does save!
  • God Is My Lighthouse Art Lesson: Create your own water color lighthouse painting with artist Jim Pence.
  • SEE THE LIGHT Shipwrecked Art LessonsMusical Art: Watch chalk-artist Gloria Kholmann draw her incredible interpretation of the story of the Apostle Paul while listening to the music of “Breathing Room” featuring recording artists Jan Roper and Kevin Dukes.
  • Plan of Salvation: Lead little ones to Christ with this remarkably simple, yet creative presentation of the plan of salvation.
  • Commentary: Listen to chalk artist Gloria Kohlmann’s commentary as she creates her chalk masterpiece about the shipwrecked Apostle Paul.

As with all See The Light DVDs, we LOVED Shipwrecked! I never cease to be amazed at Mrs. Gloria’s stunning interpretations of the Bible stories using chalk! Check out some of the amazing artwork featured in the Shipwrecked story:

And of course, we LOVE Mrs. Gloria’s black light reveal! Throughout the story of Paul we see glimpses of her working on the piece shown below…

…which, under the black light, reveals…

LOVE IT!

In addition to the story of the Apostle Paul, there are three art lessons on the DVD. Below is one of the projects: creative lettering with Mrs. Heidi using the word, courage!

One of my 5 year olds even joined in on the fun!

I think they all look amazing! I am new to homeschooling my 1st and 3rd grader this year and need some help in the area of art. I think if I had to pick one it would probably be the Crossmaker!
