We couldn’t have received the Really Woolly Kids DVD, Trusting in the Shepherd, at a more perfect time! My husband and I have been talking about wanting to get some more Bible-based DVDs for the kids to watch, and this one definitely fits the bill!

imageTrusting in the Shepherd is the newest Really Woolly DVD featuring the gang from Woollyville. There are two episodes on the DVD which both encourage kids to trust in Jesus our Shepherd.

In the first episode, Gracie, who is camping out in the woods with Grandma Tabitha and rest of the Ewe Scouts, learns to trust the Shepherd to protect her from the thought of some of the frightening animals of the night. In the second episode, Jacob trusts the Shepherd to protect him from the “bully” at school!

Both Gracie and Jacob learn about Psalm 23:4 and how to trust the Lord to guide and protect them.

Our Thoughts:

We enjoyed both episodes and have watched them NUMEROUS times already! However, the very first time we watched the first episode on the DVD, one of my 3 year olds was scared of one of the scenes from Gracie’s campout. But, it proved to be a perfect time to explain how he could trust in the Lord just like Gracie!

Throughout the day I just LOVE hearing my kids singing the catchy little tune from the DVD,

“Even though I walk through the darkest shadow, I will not fear. For you are with me God and I am brave when you are near!”

I even overheard one of my boys singing it at night. He told me that singing the song helped to remind him that God would protect him! How sweet is that!!! I just love when my kids are able to watch movies/shows that actually penetrate their heart and help to plant Biblical seeds! Needless to say, my kids {and me too!!!!} are in love with the whole Woolly gang!

More about the DVD:

The Trusting in the Shepherd DVD is a 40-minute video featuring 2 episodes based on Psalm 23:4. Recommended for children ages 3-8, the DVD also includes:

  • Online Family Adventures Info
  • Outtakes
  • Really Woolly Kids Trivia
  • Deleted scene

Although this is our first Really Woolly DVD, I am certain that it will not be our last! I already planning to buy some more Really Woolly DVDs as Christmas gifts for the kids! And if that is not enough, there is also a Woollyville website with games, activities, and printables that my kids are really enjoying as well! Plus you can try out a FREE Really Woolly Online Family Adventure!

On a side note, the DVD is also very “up with the times.” I giggle every time I see Grandma Tabitha scrolling through her Blackberry Pearberry phone! Too cute!!

So, would you like to have Trusting in the Shepherd for your little one(s)? I have the awesome opportunity to give away a copy to one of my readers! How cool is that!?!?! If you can’t wait to see if you win the giveaway, you can head over and purchase the DVD today!

Wow! That DVD sounds awesome. My 3 year old is dealing with fear a lot. We had her memorize two verses on fear, we talk about it a lot, and we remind her to turn on lights. It seems to be getting better…slowly. It would be great if there is some more help with this topic. Thanks for the post. I would love to win.
