To celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, we made MLK themed handprints and these super yummy, super cute MLK inspired cookies. Best of all, the cookies are very easy to make!
We used a "person" cookie cutter and some premade cookie mix to make all the little people. The original intent was to use store-bought icing to ice the cookies. But, we didn’t have any…so, we improvised and made our own.
To make your own icing, simply mix together powdered sugar, a splash of vanilla, and a few splashes of milk. Mix and add more sugar or milk to acquire the desired consistency.
Divide the icing into at least three bowls. Add chocolate syrup in varying amounts to each of the bowls to make different skin tone colors.
And there you have it, MLK cookies!
I couldn’t resist, but once the kids were done icing the cookies, I arranged them on a plate. How cute are they!??!?!?!?
