KJ loves the doll that she got for her birthday…so much so that she has become part of our family!  Infact, she wanted to make little Camryn her own bed. I looked into buying one, but if you know me…I came up with a way to make one. So, this is what we came up with and how we made it!

So, you will need some batting, glue, fabric, a staple gun, some old towels, and a mailing box (I used an old Priority box.) First take the box and stuff it with old folded towels. I did this so that the  box would be sturdy and would not cave in. Next, seal the box up or tape it closed. Cut the batting down to fit the box and glue it on. This is the “mattress” part of the bed. I wasn’t going to put this on, but KJ insisted! Can’t have her doll sleeping on a hard surface!!!  🙂

Next, cover the box with the fabric as if you were wrapping a present. Use a staple gun to secure the fabric.

And, that is it! KJ had already made a pillow and a blanket and now her doll now has a brand new bed and it was super easy and super cheap to make!

We did this, but used a shoe box. The kids loved making their doll beds.

What a great idea! KJ is a crafty girl – I love her blanket and pillow too. 🙂 And of course the doll needs a little softness to sleep on! It only makes sense. 🙂
