When the mail carrier delivered the box, my curiosity heightened. When I saw what was inside, I was super excited! Truth be told, I was like a little kid on Christmas morning! So, what was inside the box? A gorgeous Doll Bed from Guidecraft!

I could hardly contain myself as my daughter peered around the corner wondering why I was so giddy. I quickly hid the box so that she couldn’t see it. Her birthday was soon and I wanted to surprise her! Well, that plan lasted about a day and a half. Between my excitement and her curiosity, I went ahead and showed her the box. I couldn’t contain myself…and neither could she…once she saw what it was!

023See, we made our own make-shift doll bed awhile back and she could not believe that she now had a REAL baby doll bed! And by real, let me explain…this is NOT a cheap ‘ole doll bed that will be broken in a few months. It is made from solid hardwood and will definitely last for years to come!! This is without a doubt heirloom quality doll furniture! If I could begin to wrap my brain around KJ one day being a mom, I could totally see this amazing doll bed being passed down to her own daughter! {Ack, the thought of my little girl being married and having a child of her own is quite a bit overwhelming…way too much for me to think about right now!!!}

About the Doll Furniture:

The Doll Bed is part of the doll furniture collection that Guidecraft is now offering…might I add…just in time for Christmas! {wink} And, there are lots of great pieces to choose from! The furniture is sized to fit dolls up to 21” and can be purchased in one of two different hardwood finish colors {natural and espresso}.

While the furniture arrived unassembled, it was very easy to put together. I totally love that the doll bed came with everything I/we needed to assemble it! From start to finish it took us about 30 minutes. Had my trusty helper been too busy to help me, I think I might have gotten it all done in about 10-15 minutes.

Our Thoughts:

Needless to say, KJ is in love with her new {REAL} doll bed and it appears that her brothers…at least a few of them..are enjoying it as well! {It looks like a certain little person may have snuck into his sister’s room so that the twin boy dolls could try out the bed as well!} Thus, her dolls and a few others have taken turns sleeping on the bed. Hmmm, maybe I need to look into the Doll Bunk Beds…perhaps for Christmas!

041

While the bed came with a 3-piece bedding set, I think my daughter’s next sewing project will probably involve making a new pillow and blanket for her dolls to use on the bed. Apparently, blue is not her doll’s favorite color! 😉

Be sure to check out the complete line of Guidecraft Doll Furniture on their website. The gorgeous doll bed can be purchased through Amazon or directly through Guidecraft.

As a Guidecraft Mom blogger, this product was given to me for review purposes. I do not have to return the product to the vendor and I was not paid for this post. All opinions expressed in this post are my own.

    This is so fun! When i was young, I never had baby doll furniture like this. Hopefully I will be able to give some to my girls (and maybe my boys as well like yours!) when I have them. Thanks for sharing the post, I can tell you have made your daughter happy!

    Thanks for commenting back to me. I checked out your tutorial for making a homemade bed. It was very helpful and something my daughter would enjoy making herself. How long is you daughter’s doll and how big was the box you used to make it. My daughter’s doll is 18 in.

    I read another review for this doll furniture on Homeschool Creations earlier today and went to the site to look for a bed like this. My daughter is really into American Girl books and got the Samantha doll for Christmas last year. She wants a bed/bedding for her this year but I haven’t been able to find one inexpensively. Sadly, this is out of my budget as well, but is exactly what she wants. And blue is one of her very favorite colors right now.
