When the Coronavirus pandemic required us to shelter-in-place, the libraries adjusted their policies and practices. Initially, they were allowing patrons to place books on hold online and pick up the books curbside. They even quarantined newly returned books for 72 hours and disinfected books before they were checked out.

However, once the libraries around us completely closed, no books went in and no books came out. Fortunately, I grabbed most of the books we needed to finish out our school year.

But, I didn’t really think about “fun” books for the kids to read…

The library may be closed, but Audible is OPEN!

That is when I truly valued the importance of audiobooks because they came in handy. Really handy! Especially when we had no library access at all!

During the pandemic, Audible (the world’s largest producer of digital audiobooks) offered FREE audiobooks for kids to help out during that uncertain time! Yep, it was completely FREE!!! No signup required! You didn’t even have to enter an email address! It was wonderful!

Thankfully, the pandemic is over! But, so is that special deal they had for children’s audiobooks. It was great having access to all those free books for my kids to listen to!

But, you can still get access to TONS of Audible audiobooks by heading over to their website. They are running special deals all the time! Sometimes it a free trial.

Sometimes, it’s just 99 cents month, which is really a great deal!
