When I first received the DVD, I was thrilled. But, once I actually watched the DVD and downloaded the study guide, I was completely and utterly amazed and excited about all that we were learning and would learn about monarch butterflies!

These are photos that I took of the monarch butterfly and caterpillar on my television screen! Yes, these are the type of up-close-and-personal butterfly clips found on the Your Backyard Monarch Butterfly DVD! This is about as close to the real thing as you can get! Simply amazing! There is even footage of a caterpillar forming its chrysalis AND a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis!

Did you know…

Did you know that caterpillars enter the chrysalis completely blind? Did you know that monarch butterflies only lay their eggs on milkweed plants? Can you tell the difference between a male and female monarch butterfly? These questions and many, many more are addressed in the DVD.

Our Thoughts About Your Backyard
Monarch Butterfly DVD & e-Study Guide

In case you can’t tell, I am extremely excited about the Monarch Butterfly DVD and Study Guide. Every time I thought the DVD was about to end, more incredible information was presented!

After watching the DVD for the first time, my kids have asked to watch it again numerous times! While we have watched the DVD multiple times, we have only begun a few of the activities in the study guide. I am saving it for a complete unit study on butterflies in our upcoming school year! The kids are excited and so am I! Between the DVD and the study guide, I will have all of the resources needed for a completely awesome unit study on the monarch butterfly!

I am also excited that the content is for children of all ages! I will be able to use the unit study for all of my kids ranging in age from 4 to almost 9 years old! Learning is so much more fun for the kids and enjoyable for me when we can do it together!

What I love most is that the awe of God’s miraculous creation is infused throughout the entire DVD!! You will walk away feeling even more amazed at Our Father’s wonderful creation!

    Studying the the life cycle of a butterfly is really exciting. The butterflies have a important role in our garden. They spread the pollen to produce more flowers.
