Have you laughed and had fun with your kids today? No, I really mean it! Have you taken some time out of your day to really have fun with your kiddos? Have you had a pillow fight? Have you played tickle monster? Have you made silly faces? Have you cranked up some music and dance around the room together?
…Have you made water balloons and surprised the kids with a water fight? Well, that is exactly what my husband and I did with the kids one hot summer day a few weeks ago. We had so much fun! We played Splat Ball (baseball with water balloons) and it eventually ended up in an all out water fight!
{My wonderful husband took a break from the action and snapped a few pics of me running from the kids! …I finally decided it was easier to just dump buckets of water on them!}
We ran around and laughed and when it was all said and done, the kids told us that we were the best mommy and daddy in the world and that it was the best day ever! This among many other things have left me wondering…why can’t I put forth the same effort to make more of those great memories on a regular basis?
Why can’t everyday be the best day ever?
Am I the only mama who needs to laugh with and have more fun with her kiddos? I kinda think not. So, want to join me in actively planning more fun and laughter into our daily routines?
What are you going to do today to laugh with and have fun with your kiddos? What memories will you make with your kids today that will last a lifetime? How are you going to make today the best day ever?

We had a blast today. Stayed in our PJs until 4pm and only got dressed to head out to the park for a few hours. When I get dressed about live as a single mom it really helps to relax and just be with my kiddos for a day.

I wish I did better at being the funnest Mom ever, but I have to admit to being selfish all too often.
I’m thinking Splatball is a good way to get soaked yourself, and not get the other person soaked.

Jenn, how fun is that! I, like you mentioned, do not make the effort I should in making each day the best ever. God has been convicting me of it lately, as well. Thanks for this post and the reminder to DO something about making this the best day ever! 🙂

Yes, Jenn, I do try to make every day the best day ever. Sometimes it seems that my energy doesn’t go far enough. Sometimes it seems that the daily chores that need to be done take up more energy than I would like, but I am trying harder to even make even those things time to spend together. When you can enjoy the time together, even chores can be a happy time. I would like to hear more about how you balance how you spend your energy.
