PinkaliciousWe read Pinkalicious by Victoria and Elizabeth Kann. This is one of KJ’s favorite books. In fact, just a few days ago one of the boys asked me to read it to them. So, I guess it is pretty popular with the boys too! Anyhow, it is about a girl who eats one too many pink cupcakes and turns pink. The only way to get back to normal is to eat plenty of green foods. So, in honor of Pinkalicious, KJ made a pink collage. This was perfect because she has been learning about colors!

Here KJ’s pinkalicious collage:

A Story + Art = A Great stART!!

So cute!! I need to do this with the Mini-Saurus, her favorite color is PINK and she is getting really good with her scissors. This would be great practice for her. Pinkalicious is a favorite book in our house : )

As I recall, in the end the little brother was very keen on getting pink too. I have to say – I didn’t like the book at all, and don’t know what the fuss is about. I didn’t like the message that green veggies are disgusting and the girl just HAD to endure them to turn normal again. I was really blah about the book, and daughter didn’t like it either. Of course, it might change when she is 6 🙂

Great activity for that book because some of the illustrations are collage-like.
