Q-Tip Counting Trays

I love hanging out in the Dollar Store. My latest find were some water bottle ice trays. It is really a great idea. The compartments in the trays are long and slender so that the frozen ice can slide right through the mouth of a bottle of water. But, when I saw them, my mind started reeling! Here is what I came up with:My water bottle ice trays are now my kid’s Q-Tip Counting Trays. All I did was use my labeler machine to make the number labels and I stuck them along the compartments of the tray. While at the Dollar Store, I also grabbed some fun yellow Q-tips and voila a brand new learning toy for my kiddos to use to work on counting and fine motor skills. Since I already had the labeler on hand, the total cost for the 2 pack of trays and the Q-tips was only $2!

Oh My God! How cute is that. I remember standing at the $ store holding this very ice tray and thinking what I could use in it for spindle box. I was thinking tooth picks and the likes, but decided otherwise. This is perfect! Now why didn’t I think of this ? Silly me 🙂 THANK YOU for your post 🙂

I’ll bet this could work for place value, too!

I’m going to hunt my $ tree down, and find me one of these!

This is a truly awesome idea!
