The Samaritan’s Purse Bloggers submitted a challenge! We were challenged to think ahead and shop for our Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes now, while shopping the back to school sales!

Details of the Back to School Challenge:

~ Commit to devoting $10 of your back-to-school shopping for your Operation Christmas Child shoebox?

~ Shop, save, and store up all of your back-to-school shoebox goodies!

~ Write up a blog post sharing your finds and link up on August 28th to show how you were able to stretch your $10.

Our OCC Back to School Purchases:

We accepted the challenge and here are some of the items that my family purchased to add to our OCC boxes! I snagged boxes of 24 count pencils from Target for $1.24 each.

After searching around ToysRus, we were able to find Crayola 24 count crayons for only a quarter a box!

We even cashed in on 10 count packs of pens from Office Depot for 10 cents a pack!

We also found a few more goodies from the Dollar Tree (not pictured) to round out our $10 challenge!

Did you participate in the challenge?

Don’t forget to link up your post below!

I never would have thought to go to Toys R Us for school supplies! The cheapest crayons got around here this year was .50 for Crayola.

Normally I wouldn’t have thought to get supplies from there either! But, my boys had saved up their money to buy some Lego sets. While I was there I saw the sale and snagged as many boxes as I could!!
