In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I wanted to share some artwork from my kids. Initially my kids did MLK coloring pages from Our Black Heritage Coloring Book. Below is one of my 6 year olds coloring pages.

However, the kids decided that they wanted to draw their own pictures of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I am so impressed with how they turned out!

When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every tenement and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old spiritual,
“Free at last, free at last. Thank God Almighty, we are free at last.”
— “I Have a Dream” speech, August 28, 1963

Today we thankfully celebrate some of the freedoms that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was foundational in helping establish!

What a cute idea! That is a great way to express the concept to little ones. I just read a blog that had another super idea that I plan to use in the future. You can check it out here: http://allofakindfamily.blogspot.com/2012/01/every-year-for-at-least-7-years-we-have.html

I can not wait until my littles ones are able to draw. I have two little ones under the age of two. For the 21 months old we did different cookie chips (dark chocolate, white chocolate, PB, and, Butter S.) and TRIED to explain theymay look different and taste different but in the end they are ALL SWEET. She was SUPER interested when she got to eat them:) I love your blog!!!
