Pine Tree ParableChristmas is definitely in full swing around here! One of our favorite books has been The Pine Tree Parable by Liz Curtis Higgs. I still get teary-eyed reading it! To go along with the parable, the kids and I had fun making these super cute craft stick Christmas trees. This is just one of many Christmas crafts we have done this year!  🙂

Craft Stick Christmas Tree Ornament

Supplies: All you need to make these are some craft sticks (aka popsicle sticks), paint, ribbon, glue, and decorations. We used some rhinestones and a star for our decorations.

Directions: Keep two crafts whole. Break/cut the others to form the tree limbs. Paint one of the whole sticks brown (for the tree trunk) and all the rest green (for the tree limbs). If your children are impatient…ahem…I mean…for quick assembly, use a glue gun to attached the limbs to the trunks and the ribbon for hanging the ornament. Then let the kids get to work gluing decorations onto their tree! Once dry, hang the tree on THE TREE and enjoy!!!  🙂

Yes, I did break the craft sticks. I tried cutting a few of them. I just gnawed away with a regular ole pair of scissors. Hope that helps!

I wish I had bought this book for one of Alyssa’s Christmas gifts this year. It seems like a GREAT story. The Christmas tree craft is beautiful. Did you just break the sticks or cut them? What did you use and was it difficult to cut them?
    Thank you,

I love this idea. I did this story as the lesson for Children’s church today. Wish I would’ve checked here for a craft to go along with the wonderful story.
