We made these little kites when the big boys were doing their unit on the letter K. All we needed to make them were craft sticks, construction paper, yarn, glue, and markers. Simply color the craft sticks and then glue them together. (Use a glue gun for a quick dry…or dry overnight if using regular glue.) Next cut a diamond shape out of the construction paper. Glue it and the yarn onto the craft sticks and voila a kite!!! The kids had fun trying to fly them around the house. We ended up taping them onto their bedroom windows and pretending that they were flying!

Fantastic craft! Another great use for popsicle sticks – I keep seeing a big bag of them at the dollar store and never knowing what I’d do with them if I bought them…now I’m getting some great ideas!
