We read the book Snip, Snip…Snow! by Nancy Poydarand made snowflakes and snowmen.
The book is about a girl, Sophie, who desperately longs for it to snow. She resolves to create her own snow by cutting out snowflakes. The book provides step by step instructions for making your own snowflakes. This was the first time that my kids cut their own snowflakes and I loved hearing them “ohhh” and “ahhh” over the designs once the opened them up! We spiced up our snowflakes by adding glitter. (Check them out in the photo above!)
Sophie takes the “art” a bit further by recycling the snowflake scraps by using them to make a snowman. We did the same!!! (I can’t tell if they look more like snowmen or penguins!!!!)
In the end, as Sophie is cleaning up from making her snow creations, it begins to snow!!
